There are two kinds of Blackjack: Standard and Advanced. The rules of Standard Blackjack are pretty simple. If you count cards from the same deck as one hand, the minimum hand value is 11. The maximum hand value is 21. All bets are against the dealer. If the dealer’s up card is a Jack, and you have a hand value of 16 or less, you’ve lost the hand.
The rules for Advanced Blackjack are a little more complicated, but it’s important to know the basics of the game before you start playing.
The Basics of Advanced Blackjack
Most Blackjack players start out playing Advanced Blackjack. If you’re interested in playing Advanced Blackjack, you’ll need to find a casino that offers the game. Some casinos offer it on certain table games, but not all. But once you’re playing Advanced Blackjack, the game is almost the same as Standard. The main differences are:
The maximum bet is $10, instead of $5
There is no minimum bet
There are more rules that apply to Advanced Blackjack
The odds are slightly different
When you play Blackjack, the house makes money if your total hand value is a natural 21.
When you play Blackjack, the house makes money if your total hand value is a natural 21. In Advanced Blackjack, a Blackjack pays 1 to 1. You’re only guaranteed to win $1 if you have a Blackjack.
